Barcode scanners and external input devices

This article explains how to connect and use barcode scanners or external keyboards with Final POS, and how to troubleshoot input issues.

Supported input types

• USB barcode scanners

• Bluetooth barcode scanners

• External wired/wireless keyboards

• Any HID-style input device

Final POS accepts any device that outputs standard keyboard input.

Connecting your device

Most devices connect automatically without configuration:

• USB devices: connect using a compatible hub or adapter

• Bluetooth devices: pair in the device’s system settings

• Keyboard-style scanners: no additional setup required

Once connected, your device can be tested through the Input Device Tester.

Verifying your device works

Open Station Home → Settings → Input Device Tester to check input.
If issues appear, review the troubleshooting in Input Device Tester.
