The Park order action saves the active cart, along with all products, fees, discounts, notes, and customer details, as an order in Parked status. Parking an order pauses the checkout without losing any information. When the customer is ready to pay, the parked order can be reopened and completed, at which point its status changes from Parked to Completed.
Parking an order is useful in scenarios such as:
A customer needs to step away and come back later to finish the payment.
The checkout line is busy and you want to temporarily hold one transaction while serving another customer.
A customer wishes to add more currently unavailable items to their purchase before paying, but you want to save the order’s current state.
The payment method isn’t immediately available (e.g. waiting for a manager’s approval or external confirmation).
This action ensures no details are lost while keeping the flow of checkout flexible.
Companies are able to configure park order behavior including its expiry date and stock settings in Park Order Settings under General Settings in the Manage tool.
