When you want to begin building a new flow in the Build tool, there are two main ways to get started: using a preset from the preset library or starting from scratch.
The Preset Library is designed for people who want a customized checkout experience without building everything from the ground up. It includes ready-to-use flows for different use cases such as desktop or tablet POS, mobile POS, self-checkout kiosks, and price-checking kiosks.
Clicking View details on a preset opens an overview page where you can review its description, intended use case, supported languages and operating systems, the scenarios it is ideal for, and the features it offers. From there, you can choose to install the preset or create a clone of it.
When you install a preset, it is added to both your Build homepage and the Run Native app, ready to be launched.
Installed presets cannot be opened in Builder for editing, they remain fixed versions. The benefit of installing is that these presets stay actively managed and will be able to receive any future version updates, ensuring you always have the most up-to-date version available.
Cloning a preset creates a separate copy of it in your Builder. Unlike installed presets, cloned flows can be fully opened, edited, and customized. Once a preset has been cloned, it no longer receives updates from the source, giving you complete control but also making you responsible for maintaining it over time.
When you install or clone a flow from the Preset Library, any Print Blocks attached to print button elements in that flow will automatically be added to your account. These become visible under the Print Blocks tab in the Build homepage, where you can view and manage them like any other print block.
If you prefer full control, you can begin with a blank canvas. Starting from scratch gives you complete freedom to design the flow without any predefined layout or content.
When you choose this option, you will first be prompted to name your flow. After that, you can select from common screen sizes or enter a custom size if your use case requires it. Once the size is confirmed, the Builder interface will open in a new tab.
From here, you can begin designing your first page in one of two ways: either place elements directly onto the blank canvas, or choose from preconfigured Div container structures. These structures act as a starting point for organizing the layout of your page.
